What can i say about this place that others haven't said? The food is delicious here. The variety in the menu, all the different drinks offered and the outdoor seating. The service is ALWAYS the best. Carlos the owner is super sweet. He is always very friendly and although he has achieved a lot he continues to be humble. The cook "Papas" is the best cook there. Always is smiling no matter how many orders he has stacking up in front of him. And last but not least, Angel the waiter, super friendly, very attentive, always in a good mood and very quick to bring out drinks, chips and food. One of my favorite places in the area.

Fantastic Tacos! Fast & Friendly service! Their guac & salsa is freshly made daily and tastes like heaven!

Wow! Best food for the dollar I've had in a while - and very tasty favors (which is uncommon for a Mexican restaurant) Fresh ingredients, great service, what else could you ask for?

Just had lunch here per a coworkers recommendations. Needless to say, not all that impressed. Small quant taco shop, minimal space for seating. We sat ourselves, server was very polite and came over quickly. I ordered the chicken taco loco and steak taco loco. My steak taco only had 3 small pieces of steak, and the chicken was a bit scarce too... The tacos had sour cream and a avocado slice... Tasty. The sour cream was a bit overbearing so I scraped it off.. The tacos were overall just mediocre, the salsa was good. Won't be returning.

My husband and I came here for lunch on a late Wednesday afternoon. Tacos Locos is a small restaurant. There are probably 10 tables inside for you to sit. The kitchen is right there, so you can see the cooks make the food. They gave free chips and salsa to start. I enjoyed the crispiness of the chips and there were two types of salsa - green and red. I enjoyed both..both were a good spice! I had the steak burrito which I really enjoyed. I was also craving it. There were some steak fats in the burrito, but overall it was pretty tasty. My husband felt that there was too much sour cream in it though. He had 3 types of tacos. He thought they were okay. He also started with their chicken and vegetable soup which was good. Prices are pretty cheap - we like it here! It's a very casual place - you eat, pay, and go!

I'm a local so when I want Mexican food fast Tacos Locos is in the perfect spot. Easily accessible, plenty of parking and never too busy. However, every single time I go there the food sucks. I mean, do they actually taste their product and say, "wow this is a hit ". I have given them plenty of chances but they are consistently bad. Rice is never warm and tastes stale a few of them hardened as if they've been recooked throughout the week, beans are watery and taste canned. But the worst offense of them all is their steak/carne asada. Of course you wouldn't notice that there is hardly any actual carne in your tacos since they come offensively covered in cilantro and onions but if you remove half of that you will see that most of the carne is actually nerves. This is not my first time observing this. I've ordered tacos plenty of times from here, this is a pattern. If you are really hungry and end up here, the safest bet is to just order the black bean soup which is halfway decent.

Thought we'd try something new after our walk at the forest preserves. Hole in the wall...too much hype according to all reviews, but kinda seems to have lost its authenticity maybe after it got popular. Good grilled fajita dinner. Steak tacos eh not so much. Was not tasty. Rice was hard and seemed old. I'm comparing to better Mexican places I've been to like taco burrito house on central ave in the Belmont Cragin area. We may give taco loco one more chance but for now sticking to our local joint. Good luck Taco Loco! Your service was great.

First of all! I love this place and mexican food! I also love my waiter Angel, he even knows the table I like with my lady and to keep that salsa Verde pumping. I usually get a Carne asada burrito and a taco, fresh tasting and delicious. Enjoy!! Thanks

These are the best tacos I've ever had. Carnitas. And charros were great. Flavorful, fresh and cheap!

I used to love this place! When they first opened up they had such pride in their product. Their customer service was amazing , and the owner Carlos- used to work at Marias , a great place down the way. He was so excited and had so much heart when he opened it, he even knew my voice and name the moment I ordered. It had this family feel to it. Not only was the customer service amazing but the food also! Their staple taco, "TACO LOCO" was my fav. It was full plentiful with meat, avocado and had such an amazing taste! Sadly, As their popularity increased, their quality decreased. The space is just too small to be comfortable, and the service was just that of a typical BURRITO KING/ Most recently ,their friendly nature, declined. The place began to become over saturated with people and the small establishment couldn't accommodate . Not to mention each time I went, it would take forever to get noticed, and the waitress always had a local or favorite that took all her attention. AS a result I began to just order and eat at home. BUT it wasn't any better The server who took our order on the phone was just plain rude. It sounded busy, and when I wanted to place an order over the phone. She hung up on me twice.. I called back & her poor English and attitude didn't get our order correct. I repeated several times , I even translated in Spanish - something I thought was polite. She then yelled at me " I UNDERSTOOD YOU THE FIRST TIME! I then said well you didn't repeat it back properly. Frustrated at the service, I decided to email Carlos, the owner. ..He apologized and said this was an ongoing issue. He said she denied all that occurred , but still apologized and asked me to give them another chance. I decided to go back and to my surprise the girl who was rude wasn't working there anymore. I ordered my fav taco loco and went home. Sadly the taco was not the same.It barely had any meat was very dry and lacked its zest. I was not happy. I hate to write such a poor review but I am very disheartened that a place such as this has changed . I will not be going there anymore.

Decent food, but for my taste it might have be a bit seasoned. Very good beans and rice. Tacos a little dry, peppers extremely hot. First time I tried the milky dring to cool the peepers off. Indians have their natural yogurt whereas mexicans have this water. Very nice and really cools of the fire in the mouth. Very good soup based on beans and meet. Similar to one of the polish dishes based on beans :-)

I popped in here solo when I was visiting for a business trip. I was promptly greeted, seated, and given a menu and water. The menu was impressive! (and this is coming from a gal that lived in practically Mexico, aka Arizona for 10 years) The delicious chips and salsa came out very quickly. The salsa was great and just the right amount of spicy! I ordered 2 tacos and a side of veggies for a light dinner. The special chicken taco was flavored nicely and the veggie taco was stellar. My grilled seasonal veggies were quite delicious and the grilled jalepeno on the side was the perfect touch to my perfect light dinner. Great food, great service, and a great price. This former Southwestern gal totally approves of this hidden gem!

I would never ever again order from this place!!! Placing an order for a big company DHL which was totaling over $200!!! The gentleman taking the order was rude and ignorant! Hung up on me and wouldn't allow me to make multiple orders and didn't feel that he needed our business .... I hope that others think his food is that great for him to push customers away cause I just thought it was average!!! Thanks to him this other place we ordered from welcomed our business and is happy to have our business !!!!

Very good Mexican food. I have been here numerous times and can say nothing bad. Very flavorful. Staff is wonderful. Carlos the owner is very friendly. Ok I can say one thing that's bad. CARLOS YOU NEED A BIGGER RESTAURANT!!! You won't be disappointed here!

  • LaShon Y.

I didn't think it was possible to make a taco this bland! Not to mention the grease literally running out of it. I'd give this place a 'D'.

  • Tobin h.

Absolutely a must try! The food is oh so fabulous and the service, cleanliness, and atmosphere makes for a humdinger of a salsa experience. Chips and salsa were hot and fresh followed by fabulous tacos (their pork is magnifico) and the value is as good as any taco table in the area. Yo te gusto mucho!!!!

  • Natalia B.

Get their pork tacos they are delicious! ! Avoid the chicken burrito it tastes like chicken soup in a tortilla. Their orchata drink is very nice and flavorful. Their soup frijoles charros is really really good. I usually get take out and they are pretty fast with getting the food ready.

1 star is solely out of the generosity of my heart. Absolutely the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The tacos are supposedly their *specialty*...if you call dry pork, overcooked bland chicken, and brittle steak their specialty, then yeah, they take the cake. And I actually saw the cook place my enchiladas in the microwave...seriously?! Microwaveable frozen enchiladas from the freezer supermarket have more flavor than these! And to top it off, service was terrible...the lady didn't bring our food to the table, we had to pick it up, but she provided table-side service to the next group of people who came after us. The tap water in the jug looked suspect, along with the dirty water glasses. I just hope I don't get sick in a few hours. I'm surprised the health safety inspector hasn't shut this place down. Wtf.

    (1)
  • Carmen B.

The food is pretty good but the service isn't the best. I think they have forgotten something (guac, chips, salsa, once a whole dinner) every time I've place an order. I let it slide the first and second time, became highly annoyed for each offense thereafter. Never resolved/credited no matter how many calls I make. I give up! Not worth the trouble.

    (2)
  • Samantha G.

This is definitely the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Maria's is overpriced and overrated. Good food, prices, service and delivery. I love the chicken burrito because it is made with tender shredded chicken versus the typical grilled chicken cubes. The salsa verde is also very good. The inside of the restaurant is small but nice. They are always busy which is a very good sign. What else do you need to know?

    (5)
  • Roxy I.

I like this place because they have great tacos and it's so cheap! I tried a couple different tacos, and in my opinion, steak taco is the best! Service gets a bit slow, but very friendly and welcoming. If you want a quick, cheap tacos, this is the place for you.

So. Was staying at the 6 around the way. It was 20 minutes until closing. Walked through the door and there was one party ordering. They got seated after their order. 10 minutes later the counter girl returned. We were told we could order take out only. We stated our order and had a seat. A couple came in after us. They got their food 5 minutes later. 10 minutes after closing we received our food. The horchata was swell. Everything else was terrible. They neglected to put silverware in our bag. Awesome since we puttered back to the room to eat. They got my Taco Locos wrong. Beef instead if chicken. FLAVORLESS. They also forgot to add the roasted jalapeños. Semi cold shells, mediocre chips. The salsa was also flavorless. The wifey hated her food also, as did the kid. They ordered taco meals. I dunno. As highly touted as this place is, the food was BAD. The rice was okay, but nothing any more than what you get out of a rice-a-roni box. Bummer.

Finally! I found a real Mexican taco and burrito joint near my work. Maybe not as close as the other place yet far superior steak, and they left out the sour cream as requested. ;)

  • Tanya M.

I like to consider myself somewhat of a taco aficionado.. and I was not impressed with what I got from here. I ordered 3 carne tacos and grilled veggies. For $1 the grilled veggies was an incredible deal, and very delicious. The tacos on the other hand... "Meh I've experienced better" is really the best way to describe them. They were very small, and they were made with far too much sour cream. Also the cashier told me a totally different amount over the phone when ordering than what he charged me when I got there. Probably wouldn't go back here again, at least not anytime soon.

    (2)
  • Kathy P.

Chips and salsa below average. Cheese quesadillas and pork tacos were dry. Re fried beans were good. Service was very friendly. Would not come back. Marias down the street at foster and river is so much better. Despite the really nice waiter, I do not recommend this place.

Portions are big, some are big enough for 2 ppl to share. Chicken soup was OK and my steak lunch burrito was a bit on a burned side but pretty decent overall

  • Tania K.

The place is cute inside but I was so disappointed in the food. I give it one star because the horchata and guacamole were good. I ordered a veggie burrito and it was filled with just plain bland vegetables. Normally a veggie burrito will have rice, beans, onions, lettuce, avocado, cheese, all mixed with veggies. I had to order a side of rice and beans to tolerate the bland taste of the plain veggies. However, the rice and beans were also very bland. The food was not seasoned at all, which was very shocking for a Mexican restaurant. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant where the beans were so tasteless. I will definitely not be going back. Cute small place with a lot of potential. They should hire a new cook.

  • Elyse L.

Walking in here took me right back to Mexico. It has a very family run feeling to it and yes it's small, but you have the option of taking it to go too. We ordered the guacamole to start along with their complimentary chips and salsa. They gave us a mild tomatillo salsa and a medium heat habenero salsa. Both very good. The guac was killer! Fresh and full of flavor. I ordered two al pastor tacos (marinated pork with onions and cilantro) with a side of rice and beans. The tacos were a bit dry but with a squirt of lime from the plate and the salsa from our chips they were perfect. My husband got chicken enchiladas that looked amazing and he pretty much licked his plate. We are so glad we found a great Mexican place in the burbs. Coming from the land of tex mex we were having serious cravings and tacos locos hit the spot!

Giving this place 5stars for a taco joint, I know crazy but super fresh ingredients without the grease burritos plus large portions and friendliest service does deserve this high of a rating!

Horachata was very good but the good otherwise was below average. Our group had the tacos and burritos and nothing was great. Service was Excellent.

I go on grub hub and decided to try this place out. I called, as they didn't take online orders. Ordered Fajitas, which were posted at $10.99 and Enchiladas at $7.99. The girl on the phone tells me my bill is $28 ($2 delivery fee), so I ask why is iT more expensive, she goes to explain the they have a new menu and if I dont like it to call their manager. Then I say okay I am on the phone let me speak with the manager. She rudely says he went on break and tells me to call back in an hour and hungs up the phone on me. First time customer didnt even got to try this place. BAD BUSINESS. BAIT AND SWITCH! STAY AWAY!!!!

  • Joelle S.

Meh... The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the steak tacos and in each of the three tacos was about 1-1/2 pieces of steak. Very little. And if I wanted lettuce, tomato, sour cream, etc it was all extra. The dishes offered were not very interesting as far as Mexican cuisine goes. Won't spend my money there again. There are better places near by.

  • Jack T.

I stopped by for lunch, as the location is right next to my new office, and the reviews were generally good. I was not disappointed, very yummy steak tacos! Small tortillas, but loaded with meat and tasty ingredients. This place will be in my lunch rotation.

This place was surprisingly good. I happened to stop by here because I was coming back into the city from the burbs and was starving! There was no way I would make it back to the city in Friday night rush hour without having dinner. It looks like a "meh" taco place from the outside but the food was outstanding!!! Plus, they serve alcohol -a huge plus (lol). I was impressed that the salad was real greens and not crappy iceberg. I had the lemon tilapia which was OUTSTANDING. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos and a michelada -both which he liked. This was a really cute place. A great find!

The service was a bit slow but aside from that the few items I had were decent and authentic enough. The Torta though could have more beans in the sandwich.

  • Dawn S.

Food was edible which was good for the eternity we had to wait. Be prepared for up charges on everything without being made aware of this. When you question this with the manager he will have no problem insulting you. Watch the bill, they get very creative on what they want to charge you. Thanks to the manager, there are 7 customers that will never go back here.

  • Botbot B.

Meat dishes were mediocre according to people I went with. But I think they need to do some serious work on their vegetarian food. Had a $10 veggie fajita, here's my problem w/ it: - dry! it was just sauteed vegetables w/ too much black pepper, without any kind of fajita marinade sauce.. it's called fajita, so why no fajita sauce? - they use powdered garlic (the dish costs $10 for Christ sake! Use real garlic!!!) - Mexican rice had canned corn and green peas - just serve Mexican rice and not the kind that caters to american palette - just let Mexican food be Mexican food! 2 reasons why some Mexican restaurant put peas and corn on their rice: #1 - to cater to American palette, as mentioned, and #2: to use them as fillers ---- pls don't do that. I feel bad for writing this review because everything else was ok. I actually would come back ONLY if they fix their veggie dishes. But until then, I won't be coming back, and based on the food I was served, I won't be recommending it to anyone either. Taco Burrito King (a mere franchised fast food restaurant, to remind you): their veggie dish are not only way better, but way cheaper. I just wish they would put more effort into making their food. It was offensive how I was charged $10 for something that clearly is not at all worth the prize. Get your act together Tacos Locos.

  • Kevin K.

I tried 3 of their special tacos and they were all very tasty and fair prices. I has the al pastor, grilled chicken and pork loco taco. The layout is a little confusing as far as where and how to order and I was expecting a wall menu but a friendlu waitress promptly helped me out.

  • Mary S.

Tacos Locos was our quick pick stop before dropping our rental car off at O'Hare. Near the airport and one of the only places around that didn't look like a sad dilapidated titty bar, we popped in for a half hour and had a couple tacos. It's in a tiny strip mall, next to a dunkin' donuts, as others have mentioned. We both had 2 chicken tacos. The meat was really good, and our orders came up very quickly. Somewhere between a take out Mexican place and a full service restaurant, they get it done efficiently here. It was nothing to write home about, and they had the misfortune of following two 5-star taco nights on our Great American Tour of Tacos vacation, but it served the purpose and got the job done. The lady at the counter who took our order and brought it over to us was very friendly and very speedy and attentive. It's a pretty small spot with 8 or 9 tables, max. The price is right at 2 tacos/1 drink per person, under 20 bucks for the whole meal, including the tip.

I really like this place they keep things simple and good. Prices are fair. This is my new favorite place for Mexican food.

    (5)
  • Robert H.

There are tons of Mexican places in the burbs. This is just another one of those places. I got a taco dinner. Charged extra for meat upgrade in all three tacos. The food was decent, but not any better than a number of other taco places in the vicinity. Atmosphere was kind of cool, at one table there was a group of friends sharing a pitcher of sangria, another table there was a couple that appeared to be on a date, it was kind of busy and lively and it was a nice place (albeit a tiny one). Overall, nothing special and somewhat overpriced. If you happen to be in the neighborhood and have a hankering for some Mexican food, go for it. Just don't go out of your way for this place.

Highly recommended my wife and I stop in here every time we're in the Rosemont area. On our last visit we ordered vegetable fajitas with a side of beans rice and guacomole with two drinks and it only cost us $18. Affordable, clean, and a good variety of a menu a must try.

My friend is a flight attendant for Virgin America, and on overnight layovers these hard-working folks get put up at the swank Hotel Intercontinental near O'Hare (Sir Richard Branson knows how to treat his crew). The problem is, unless you want to eat at McCormick and Schmicks, the Capitol Grill or other similarly priced eateries, you're basically screwed out here. Enter Tacos Locos. Apparently all the flight attendants know, and love, this place. And with good reason. Good food, nice service, decent prices. This is small digs. The place is tiny, only a handful of tables, with one waiter working hard to keep up with it all and it looked like one cook in the back. Still, both were gamely crankin', and though you will obviously wait a while for your food, it was worth it overall. She and I didn't mind the wait since we wanted to catch up chatting, but next time we could always call in an order, as many others seem to do [saw a lot of people coming and going], pick it up and take it back to the hotel for more space to stretch out (again: tiny restaurant = not much elbow room). We ordered the queso appetizer, which here is the strange stretchy melted Chihuahua cheese, a piece of which you attempt to sever from the whole glob and tuck into a tortilla while grease runs down your arm. I just don't understand how this is supposed to work, but I still haven't mastered it yet. I love cheese in all forms so I will probably keep trying. Then the tacos. I got three: steak, chicken and chorizo. Once digging out from under MOUNDS of cilantro, I was able to get at them. The steak was least appealing: the meat was chopped fine so it cooked up rather tough, and just wasn't very exciting in flavor. The chicken was shredded and tasty, but the most memorable and flavorful was the chorizo, with the pleasant stinging zing of peppers, balanced by the crispness of lettuce and onion. Also, I had the best horchata of my LIFE here. Not too watery, and laden with an abundance of cinnamon. I'm sure there will be a return visit the next time my friend has a layover. Fine by me: I'm loco for chorizo and horchata! Let's taco it up, O'Hare!

The only reason this is only getting 4 stars and not 5 is because of the service. It takes a bit. I don't know if it's because they are understaffed or what but otherwise... Taco al Pastor dinner - one word - FANTASTIC! Pork in a corn tortilla and topped with fresh cilantro and onions. Yum!

I feel bad because I can't write too many foods to recommend because I am sold on my order. Guacamole to start and 3 Taco Locos. I have NEVER been disappointed. (Well only when I am too full to eat more deliciousness.) I used to live in the area but I now live close to Indiana, but I make the trip up to eat here because I haven't found anything better.

I've been coming to Tacos Locos for a few years now.I do really enjoy the food here.Service is always top notch.Place is always nice and clean. One of my favorite items on the menu is the frijoles charros.I usually start off with that and then order an entree off the menu.I've never had anything I didnt like.Nice little spot to stop at if you're near the airport.Pretty good value as well.Im sure I'll be back.

Fast and yummy, just what I like when i'm starving and in a rush. I stumbled upon this place while looking for food near O'Hare. I came in and the owner seated us quickly. The chips and salsa was a delicious start. I ordered veggie quesadillas and the boyfriend ordered a veggie burrito. Both were filling and decent in size. The place is a little small so unless its a party of 4, I recommend take out. I'll come back if i'm around the location.

Came in for lunch and ordered one chicken taco and one carne asada taco. The chicken taco was strange: the chicken seemed fine (grilled and shredded) but had some kind of weird relish or sauce. I've never tasted anything like this on a taco before. I've had tacos all over Pilsen and I'm telling you, this was bizarre. Not good. The carne asada taco was good and had nicely grilled steak, cheese, cilantro and some nice smoky salsa that seemed very fresh. The place looked clean and the staff was attentive so while I was disappointed by the strange goo in the chicken taco, I'm not quite ready to write this joint off. My fellow Yelpers, I will have to give this place another go...

It would be completely mendacious to say that Tacos Locos is anything but awesome. Yes, it is in a strip mall, and with a name like "Tacos Locos", it's completely natural to be incredulous of it's quality. But do yourself a favor. Ignore any doubt. Thanks to the people who posted pics of the food, I was immediately sold on the idea of coming here. I've never had such amazing tacos from a place this unassuming. I opted for the name-sake "Tacos Locos", which is skirt style steak, piled with sour cream, guacamole, and a roasted jalapeno pepper (proceed with caution). I also tried a couple of the tacos de al pastor. It's topped with the traditional onions and cilantro, but also comes with slices of horseradish. A nice touch for cooling the burn. Both of these tacos were stupefyingly good. In particular, the "Tacos Locos". That is the absolute must try. Everything I consumed here was well above average. From the chips and the magnificent salsas, down the the horchata. Seriously, people. This is where it's at. The food is here is straight up BOSS. Looking at this business from the outside, you may think "hit or miss". Well, I am here to assure you that this place hits like Manny effing Pacquiao.

Omg! Try the chorizo cheese dip with corn tortillas! Delicious! I promise you, my wife and I went unconscious for 15 min and devoured pieces of heaven. The tacos are amazing as well!

So we were on our way home out of the city and I randomly got a hankering for some tacos, the first place we found on Yelp was closing up and wouldn't let us order so this was the next closest place and I'm SO glad we came here! I ordered two steak tacos and an horchata to go and I must say these tacos were amazing! I go to many different taquerias and most places are hit or miss but these tacos were so succulent and the red salsa had plenty of flavor, though not very spicy. They make your food to order and they are very quick. The horchata was very good as well. If I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely stop by! It's right down the street from the Rosemont Theater so they have pictures on the wall of famous Latin musicians and actors who have stopped by, like Julieta Venegas and Diana Reyes.

Been going here for years . The owner Carlos is very friendly along with the staff . The micheladas are great and the menudo is as good as it gets .. Looking forward to my next visit ..

Decent taco spot, we tried each of their signature "loco" tacos and their steak quesadillas. No compliant a at all regarding flavor, cooking and service...all were solid. My only complaint was their tortillas, too "preservative-y." If they switch to homemade tortillas we'll be on to something here!

  • Keno M.

Great chips n salsa (not canned tomato), great tacos, awesome tortas (they almost melt in your mouth)! I feel the need for...SPACE, way too tiny in here making it difficult to get good & fast service during lunch hour, you may get lost in the crowd and accidentally returned back to the end of the line. The waiter sometimes turns into the taco-nazi (Seinfeld). BRITE IDEA! Knock down the wall between you and the liquor store and make it a BYOB restaurant ;) It doesn't matter cause I'll be back! (Linda Hamilton has been here, plus other celebs) I love it here!

so, this is proof that the further you get from Mexico, the worse the food. This place was pretty good! Prices were spot on for what you get and the people that work here were plenty friendly.

I have found my Mexican fix while on my Chicago layovers. Go figure a strip mall in Schiller Park would house this gem. My lunch special was $6.50 and included chips & homemade salsas ( the red is on fire ), soup ( frijoles charros ) that is homemade, and two tacos with sides ( I opted for beans and freely made pico ). Everything was fresh and delicious! The staff is the friendliest I've seen in decades. I have a new home here!

Always get the steak tacos with just onion and cilantro to go. Always fast service for me. Sometimes they don't give enough salsa to go, but if I ask for another they have always obliged.

Great place! Tried a couple of burritos, carne asada, tacos...it's all consistently good! They never disappoint! Staff is very nice and attentive. If you're looking for tasty Mexican food this is the place for you!!

My friend and I have been here twice and we like it here. The staff if very friendly and the food is good. Prices are very reasonable. The place is small, so if you have a large group, you may want to consider to-go.

I've had my share of mexican restaurants in my growing up days in L.A. and I've had just about every service imaginable to anyone. Good, bad and ugly. You name it, I've probably been served multiple times. This place lies in a strip mall and easy to find parking, I went there around 7:20 and ordered 1 lengua burrito and 2 linguica tacos ( I had no idea how big the burritos were so I ordered extra tacos just in case. And you know what? I'm fat, so what. F U and your skinny jeans wearing people) Anyhow, 5 mins go by, I check in from facebook and yelp, 15 mins go by and I'm starting to wonder if they got my order, 20 mins go by, and the waitress comes and asks if I ordered.... "HUH?" You took my order! 25 mins go by, she comes and tells me they are wrapping my burrito as we speak. 25 mins for a burrito and 2 tacoc? ULTIMATE FAIL. I don't think I've ever been to a burrito joint and waited over 25 minutes! Were they short staffed? Didn't look like it, they had 3-4 people in the back making food, maybe there were backed up? Probably not, I've only seen 1 people get served after I ordered and no one came by for a pick up either. Anyhow, let's talk about the burrito and tacos shall we? Burrito - HUGE SIZE, tons of meat, tons of cilantro and onions. just delicious. Salsa is great tasting also. Tacos - only able to eat one. Little bit on the salty side but delicious regardless. Hopefully I went there on a off night, I would love to try this place out again! Perhaps a lesson on Lean-6-Sigma might help runs thing little better?

Someone recommended this place to us when my fiance and I were at a convention in Rosemont. Very glad they did! It's in a little strip mall near a dunkin donuts, and you could almost miss it if you weren't looking for it! I had a gordita and a steak taco. My fiance had 3 different meat tacos. The meat was great , everything was delicious and the price is right. Gotta love free chips and salsa while you wait!

I work in the area and decided to try it for lunch. I had the steak burrito special which came with rice and beans and a soup of my choice for $8.80. It was good. The rice and beans lacked a little flavor but with some salt and black pepper it perked up. The burrito was filled with sour cream, cilantro and onions...quiet classic and the way I like it. I used a little of the green sauce with each bite and that also added additional flavor. I will defintley return.

  • Jill M.

Okay not bad! Still not like I'm used to in the old 'Hood, but for the area this is pretty darn good Mexican. Their signature taco is tasty, their pastor is lightly seasoned with a good adobo, their burritos are generous in size, and the chili rellano tacos are nice fat overstuffed peppers with a kick. The carne asada burrito is a bit random - I have had it when it's been charry and good and when it's been kinda' "lengua" in its consistency and taste. The beef burrito isn't anything to write home about. Odd little strip mall location but the inside is adorable - they use the space well. It is a bit pricey (about $25 for 2 burritos, 2 tacos and 4 chili rellano tacos... those chilis... mmm.) and I haven't yet branched out beyond tacos/burritos but three times offered three consistently good carryout results. I am going to man up and tackle some of the tortas next trip.

Had a fantastic steak burrito here today - one of the best I've ever had. The place is clean, well decorated, and a great value. So why only 3 stars? It was my first time here, and, since it was lunch, there was a line that I queued up for to order at the register. After I ordered, I was asked, "for here or to go", I said "for here". After waiting in that line, I was told I couldn't order "for here" at the window, I'd have to sit down and wait for the 1 server working the room to come by. So it became a to-go order. Both the server and order taker, were somewhat rude, too. Kind of in a "No Coke, Pepsi" way from that SNL skit. Ate in my car. Fail. The kitchen workers work quickly - the food is well seasoned, with plenty of fresh cilantro and onlon (which may be an issue for some - there was a lot, which I liked). Will I go back. Damn right I will. Hopefully service will improve and I can give them the extra star I wanted to.

  • Sonia B.

Not bad. This place is kind of small, so it's definitely not good for groups that ar larger than four people. I had a regular taco and a taco loco. Both were alright. I was more of a fan of the chips and salsa that they serve.

One word... OBSESSED! My hubby and I visit Chicago frequently and often stay out near O'Hare. This is the BEST Mexican food we've ever tasted, and we have tasted a lot of Mexican food! :) The guacamole is exceptional! The steak tacos are served simply and purely... with onion, cilantro, and lime. Delicioso! My husband regularly eats the chicken burrito dinner and loves it. Did I mention the choice of soup with a lunch or dinner combo? I would recommend the black bean soup! YUM! We were in town for the long holiday weekend (3 days) and ate here twice. It is wonderful food, great service, fresh ingredients, and the best Mexican food! Make it a point, whether in the city or in the 'burbs, to come here!

  • Uncle B.

This tacqueria puts out decent Mex food by Chicago standards. The carne asada was a bit watery and chewy in their signature taco loco, and the al pastor burrito was a bit gloopy with sour cream and not quite seasoned very well, but hey, this is Chicago, not East LA. The city is still evolving when it comes to Mex food, and this place was as good as any non-gourmet Mex place I've been to in these parts. I did not try any of the dinner specials yet, but may upgrade the rating up from three stars once I do.

This is it. This is heaven. Their food is so good, it defies any earthly description. Just order a soft shell beef taco with everything and you will see. Their hot sauce has no equal. The music is loud, the ambiance is great and the food is superior. Everything is great, including their prices. It's not hard to find and you'll be doing your body a favor by allowing it to savor the incredibly flavor full foods Tacos Locos makes for you.

I come here quite often for lunch and its pretty consistent. Small dining area with only a few tables, there's also tables for outdoor dining. Can place orders for delivery or pick-up. I really like the mini taquitos for an appetizer. They come with about 6 large taquitos and are really enough to fill someone as a meal. The steak tacos are as good as I've had at any local mexican diner. My brother gets the chicken burrito everytime and insists its the best thing on the menu. But I prefer the chorizo and eggs torta. Everything is made fresh right there in front of you, and all orders are fair in portion sizes. Cheap prices as well. They also serve various amounts of imported beer. Nothing over the top but it gets the job done.

Well I heard the urban legend of this AMAZING tacos place. I finally had time to try it out so I put on my spongebob square pants pjs and mickey mouse hat and coat. Along with my Power ranger velcro shoes KRIS KROSS of course thats the COOL WAY!. I got in my car that has a hole in the roof and balled tires and I hit the road to TACO HEAVEN. The drive took me over 1hr long esp since I drove around the place in circles for 10 mins. Oh well. I Walked in and there it was the Church bells were ringing and the angels were singing. I asked for the BIG BIG BURRITO. (Glad their was a bathroom close by) I Spent 46 mins and 22 secs eating this heaven of food. Then I grabbed my dr seuss green eggs n ham book and did some reading for another 2hrs.

I was very disappointed. We came in at 2:30 so it was not very busy which was good for us because we were looking for a quick meal. The chips and salsa were very good, but they lost their steam there. First, we ordered and iced tea and water. We were not aware, but they do not brew their tea there. They opened up a can of lemon sweet tea. Not at all the same thing. We placed our order. We got the soup (not the one we ordered, but were very hungry so we ate it anyway). Then we continued to wait twenty minutes before we could even get the server's attention and he looked confused, but then heard him yell to the cooks to make our order in Spanish (don't think he was aware we would understand him). We then got our order another 15 minutes later because they had to get a delivery order out the door. When our order came it was good, but not worth the wait. We waited for the check which took a while, but we definitely paid cash so we could get out as quick as possible. Overall, good food, but not worth it!

Tacos Locos? No crazy tacos here, just tasty taco deliciousness!!! Carlos, the owner, will create some of the tastiest taco flavor combinations you've ever had the privilege of stuffing down your gullet, you ugly pelican. The only crazy thing about these tacos is that people still haven't gotten the word that these are indeed some of the best tacos in the region, and by region I mean planet Earth. For all you space aliens out there lucky enough to get yelp, hop in your freakin' flying saucer and stuff your ugly, big eyed, grayish green faces with some fantastic tacos from Tacos Locos today!!!! Do it now, or we'll invade your planet and destroy you. I have no idea what the hell I'm talkin' about. Gotta take my meds. Peace out suckas!

We were staying at the Embassy Suites hotel just down the street and on a Saturday night we were desperate for food and did not want to wait an hour or longer at a larger, more upscale restaurant. By sheer chance, we drove by this place and thought we would give it a try. It's located in a small, non discript stip mall. The food was great, service was fast and we were very pleased with our experience. We had the chicken fajitas, chicken tacos and steak carnitas (I think that's what it was) - the portions were ample. The chips and salsa were excellent. There were 3 of us and our bill came to $30 - includes 3 drinks and a shared dessert. I thought it was interesting that they had a wall of autographed photos of various celebrities that had visited the restaurant - the only one that stuck out in my mind was the one of Lou Ferrigno as the Incredible Hulk.

I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience at Tacos Locos. They are very friendly, prompt and make delicious, affordable Mexican food. Food-wise, I LOVE their chicken quesadilla. Yes, I know that you can get a chicken quesadilla anywhere, but this one is different. The chicken is shredded, tender, seasoned well and so juicy. I don't know if it's slow cooked but it tastes like it. I've also enjoyed their tortas, tacos (lengua, steak, al pastor) and ceviche ( I have a coworker who gets their ceviche every week, he absolutely adores it!). Their sangria is good as well. There is something homey about the atmosphere for a sometimes hectic, small restaurant--as if you are at home watching family prepare a feast. If you are in the Schiller Park area, make it a point to stop in.

Trying to find a mexican restaurant other than TBK, I called on yelp for the help and ended finding a hidden gem. I normally am a steak taco guy but this time also ordered ceviche taco and so glad I did. I can now see why Kim's coworker would buy this every week. It tastes so fresh and delicious. The steak taco aka Taco Loco had something to be worked on. It had some funky sauce and weird aftertaste. Its a small place located in a small strip joint and everyone was friendly as if they knew you. Couldn't find a website but there's a menu on US: assets.urbanspoon.com/w/…

Ive been coming here for years and i've NEVER been disappointed. I always get the Tacos Locos Signature dish! You can sit inside (not a whole lot of seating) or in the summer they have a cute table and chairs outside. They also have old fashioned coke and pepsi bottles which I think is adorable. I've also come with friends, and tacos locos has been able to customize their orders for them. Complimentary chips and salsa. (The salsa is phenomenal) Thanks Tacos Locos. I'll keep coming back.

It's reasonably priced and they give you guacamole with your quesadillas. That alone won me over. Like many others have already said, it's a great alternative to TBK if you live or work in the area. I think the food is tastier, cheaper, and with better portions. My mom and I got two meals a piece on under a $30 carryout bill. The only advantage with TBK is that they are open later, because we all know you can't beat the 2AM atmosphere at the old Taco Burrito King!

In a strip mall behind a gas station, this place does not look impressive. But oh, wow is it ever! The sangria is awesome. The best sangria I have ever had in a restaurant. And only 5 something. I ordered the special of the night, fish tacos and they were really good. Had salmon and and another type of fish too. Ask for the pico de gallo. It is free and better than the salsa. I will definitely be back.

This is by far the best Mexican food in the area. They serve chips, pico and salsa as soon as you sit down. They are fast and helpful. The signature taco loco steak tacos are the best. They have great tamales but only on the weekends. I have never had a bad meal here and I have been here MANY times.

Great inexpensive mexican food. Authentic tacos, not like a Mexican fast food chain taco. Good salsa. Small strip mall location, about 10 tables.

I honestly can't believe this place was not on Yelp yet! I have been to at least 15 Mexican restaurants in the area (many off yelp), since our old favorite closed, and this one is by far the best. My wife and I have been eating here every weekend, and the food is always great. They make great salsa too, and sell it by the cup for only $1. We always get some to go. Prices are reasonable. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

All things considered, this may be a 2.5 not a 3. The strip mall taco place is really my kind of thing, this place didn't cut it for me. For starters $20 for 9 tacos we ordered is a little high. If there is a next time, I'd go with the burrito, they are decent sized and under $5. However, I'm in no rush to go back. The most dissapointing part of the place was the pastor. Walking in I was so excited to see the live pastor spindle with the pinnapple on top, so I ordered several pastor tacos. I don't know what they're doing, but the flavor just didn't come through. The steak tacos were better, so I'd recommend just going with a steak burrito if you check it out, but overall this place was nothing to write home about. Also stay away from the hard shell tacos as they were stale shells, no good. Finally losing .5 to 1 whole star cause the ordering/service is a struggle. Not a great system, with no place to really stand or sit if it's crowded, which it was at lunch. There are other taco joints in the area I plan on checking out next time I'm in the area for lunch.

first of all the service is great, the owner is there everyday. try the Puro Loco taco andthe steak burrito .Way better then TBK

  • Lester B.

Tacos Locos is really an overstated name, the tacos were not as loco as one might think. Though it was adequate in flavor, presentation wise, it was a little disappointing. When i get ANYTHING carne asada, I expect cut pieces of carne asada or Mexican spiced steak. The carne asada contained within my Taco Loco were huge pieces and I had to cut them myself. I also ordered a Carne Asada burrito (no beans no cheese), and well, they seemed to have really disappoint me because they did indeed add beans, but the burrito doesn't come with cheese. Not only was there beans, but they put a lot and I hate having beans in my burritos because i can't taste the meat when there's beans clouding my tastebuds. The environment had a bar feel to it. High tables, tables for 2, and stools to sit on. The customer service, however, can compensate for the food. We needed our food and checks expedited, and that's exactly how they took care of us. Me and 3 of my buds were in and out within 30 minutes. Perfect timing for a one hour lunch break. Great job on that part Tacos Locos! 1.5 stars for the food, 3.5 for the environment, and 5 out of 5 on customer service. However, will not be coming back.

Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
